Free Laptop Scheme 2024
Every year, the Madhya Pradesh government gives an incentive of ₹25000 to meritorious and promising students who score 75% or more marks in the 12th class board examination to buy a laptop so that the students can take help of digital study material to advance in the field of education.
Similarly, this year too, the state government is going to provide financial assistance of ₹25000 to meritorious and talented students to buy laptops. This money will be sent directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiary students. For this, the Directorate of Public Instruction has written a letter to all the District Education Officers and has also issued instructions.
Recently DPI Additional Director Ravindra Kumar Singh has asked for the details of students who have passed their class 12th exam this year with more than 75% marks regarding free laptop distribution.
90000 candidates will get free laptops in the year 2024

Under the Free Laptop Scheme, last year, 78641 candidates who scored more than 75% marks in the 12th class board examination were allocated an amount of Rs 25,000 each by the government to buy laptops, but this time in the year 2024, the number of meritorious students has been increased from 12000 to 90 thousand, that is, this time 90000 meritorious students of the state will be given financial assistance of Rs 25,000 each for free laptops. For this, the state government has set a budget of Rs 2.25 lakh crore.
Let us tell you, the ‘Free Laptop Scheme’ which provides free laptops to students securing 75% marks in 12th class was started in the year 2009-10 and during that time around 20 to 25 thousand meritorious students were given the benefit of this free laptop scheme but since then the number of meritorious students has increased almost four times. Officials believe that due to this scheme, the number of meritorious students in the state is increasing drastically.
According to the recent information, the benefit of Rs 25000 under the Free Laptop Scheme is expected to be given by the end of December by the government.
